Julie Zybach-Sewell

 
 

Julie Zybach-Sewell Biography 

Julie Zybach-Sewell is in her first year as women’s golf head coach at GateWay.  She looks forward to implementing her positive experience as a college student-athlete in her first head coaching position.

“If you give me 100 percent, I’ll give you 110 percent back in coaching… everyday we work on our weaknesses and perfect our strengths.”  In recognizing golf as a mental sport, Zybach-Sewell is committed to building confidence in her girls to lead to success on and off the golf course.

She has 15 years of experience playing golf, including four years of competition at Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma from 2001-2005.  She is also on the head committee for the Ja’Nae Memorial Golf Scholarship Tournament, which has been providing college scholarships for high school golf players in Wheeler County, Texas since 1999.  The scholarship is in memorial of her late cousin and golf mentor, Ja’Nae Goad.

Zybach-Sewell graduated with honors with a BA in Physical Education and a minor in computers from OPSU in 2005.  She completed her MA in Human Performance and Sport from New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico in 2007.

Zybach-Sewell; a Brisco, Texas native; currently resides in Gilbert with her husband Joe Sewell.  Her hobbies include playing golf, water skiing and snow skiing.
