Michele Hamm Biography
Michele Hamm is in her fourth year as the Coordinator of Wellness Education at GateWay. With a passionate attitude, her goal is to create an environment that empowers students, faculty and staff to make informed decisions about personal well-being, and to encourage behaviors that move towards a balanced lifestyle.
“I like to make a difference in people’s lives. When somebody makes a small change in their lifestyle and health, it’s great to see the impact. I like to show them that being healthy is fun and rewarding.”
Michele was previously the Fitness Center Technician at Estrella Mountain Community College prior to joining GateWay as its first Coordinator of Wellness Education. She also has 10 years of experience as a CPR/First Aid Instructor Trainer.
She graduated from Arizona State University in 1994 with a B.S. in Exercise Science/ Physical Education, and she received her M.Ed. in Counseling/ Human Relations from Northern Arizona University in 1998.
Michele; a native of Denver, Colorado; currently resides in Chandler with her husband Jake and her sons Tyler and Trevor. They have two Catahoula hound dogs named Pete and Gracie. In her free time, Michele enjoys scuba diving, running with her dogs, hiking/backpacking, golfing with her husband and spending time with her family.
