Andy Barber 

Coach Barber has been involved in valley soccer for over 20 years. He attended Dobson High school where he played three years for the Mustangs and then went on to play for South Mountain Community College. At SMCC he was a two year starter and earned Academic All-American honors his second year.

Barber began his coaching career while at SMCC by heading youth teams, before taking a short hiatus from soccer to attend Arizona State University.  He then returned to coaching at the high school as the Girls J.V. head coach and Varsity assistant coach at Dobson High for 6 years.  From there he moved to Red Mountain High School in 2006 to head the Girls Varsity team. He has led the Mountain Lions to back to back region titles and was named Region Coach of the Year for the 2007-2008 season.

In addition to his high school experience, Barber spent 3 years as an assistant coach for the SMCC Women’s team from 1999-2002, he currently coaches in the Gilbert soccer club and is staff coach for the Texas A&M soccer camp. Andy brings a fun, yet disciplined approach to coaching, focusing on strong tactical play.
